Overview Myeloproliferative neoplasms are abnormal proliferations of one or more terminal myeloid cell lines in the peripheral blood (RBCs, WBCs, platelets). Myeloproliferative neoplasms are poorly characterized and poorly undersood. They all cause a predilection to extramedullary hematopoiesis, myelofibrosis, and transformation to acute leukemia.
